ICT Enabled Learning Queries
ICT Enabled, Correspondence and regular Face-to-face degrees/programs from accredited Universities offer instructions in the areas where the student has enrolled for. However, in Regular Face-to-face programs, you have to attend physical classes and follow a time- table. Whereas in ICT Enabled programs, you get an opportunity to view videos, take assignments, etc. anytime anywhere and from any device.
The Correspondence programs provided by a University offers similar flexibility but lack in terms of content delivery (only printed study material provided with limited contact programs) and interactivity. The ICT Enabled programs are best suited to meet the needs of flexibility, high quality, affordability and high interactivity.
Admissions for the ICT Enabled programs can be taken online using the Online Application Form. The student needs to align herself/himself with the currently running batches of the course in the University.
However, if desired, the student can also download the offline application form, fill it up and send the same to the University (please refer to the ‘Admission’ section of the website.)
Yes. Intake happens twice a year, please see the course page. The students can apply for the course and start studying.
All programs mentioned on our website is available in the ICT Enabled format. Please refer to the Academics section for the complete list of programs. The University has planned to launch several more programs in the ICT Enabled format very soon. This shall depend upon the interest of the students for particular programs. You may want to submit your request, in case the course you desire does not feature in the available list of programs.
Students taking ICT Enabled programs earn academic credit, and are graded in the same way as other students of the University. The University maintains parity for students irrespective of the medium of teaching.

Yes. KSOU ICT Enabled Programs provides an option to the students to purchase printed study material for their course at minimal cost of Rs.1500/- .

An enrolled student shall be able to access the lectures at his/her convenience. The students shall be able to rewind/revise a lecture as many times as desired. Some of the more difficult topics are covered by more than one professor. The students get to learn the topic from the faculty of his/her choice. You can also view the content in an offline mode (Internet connection is not required) using our mobile application on your smart phones/ tablets. The mobile application and content for your course for a specific semester/year can be provided on an SD card at an additional nominal cost. Yes, you can view the videos in an offline mode on any Android device (Smartphone or tablet) even when there is no Internet connection by using our mobile Application and content. Teaching staff and students communicate primarily through methods like email. Most of the programs have bulletin board or chat rooms which helps fostering communication between students and teaching staff. Please login to the Learning Management System as soon as your get your ID.
You can learn the programs anytime based on your schedule and time available to you. But term end examinations and internal assessments will have to be completed as per the deadlines shared by the University.
The content can be accessed using any device that can run a browser. The students may use a computer, a laptop, a tablet or a smartphone to access the online platform. No. The student is not allowed to change his / her specialization subjects later.
No. The student is not allowed to for giving his /her marks for re-totalling / revaluation as the marks are system generated.
In each course there are activities like assignments, practice / mock tests, virtual classroom sessions, forums for discussions, questionnaire / survey etc. conducted so that KSOU ICT Enabled programs become more effective and interactive.
The detailed syllabus of the course is available under each Course page which is available under Academics section. For registered students, the syllabus will also be available in the Learning Management System (LMS).

Genuine requests for change of your name (after marriage, spelling mistakes etc) can be made to the University even after taking admission. There would be additional fee for the same which is available in each of the course page.
Spelling mistakes: You have to submit a written application to the University enclosed with an affidavit, incorrect original copy of the document, 10th passed certificate photocopy or any school record of the correct name.
If change of name is due to marriage or any other reason, students have to furnish the following documents:
- 1. Change of Name Application Form.
- 2. Photocopy of the Judgement (Decree) from the Court, containing the declaration of change of name.
- 3. Advertised copy of Newspaper.
Note: Affidavit, Marriage Certificate etc will not be accepted for Change of name.All the documents that shows the correct name needs to be attested by a gazetted officer.

Some firewall administrators block all the video streaming into their site. If so, you won’t be able to view videos.
You will receive your ID and password once you have completed the formalities of the admission. The ICT Enabled Programs cell is serviced by a dedicated Student Care Helpdesk. You can find the details of the telephone number from this website. Please do call on the number for any support required during admissions. Alternatively, you may fill up your queries in the contact section.
Yes. Originals should not be sent by post. However, verification of original certificates before the completion of the course is compulsory either at KSOU office or at KSOU designated centers.
- Proof of Qualification: Attested/notarized photocopies of the last qualifying exam and statement of marks (degree certificate/mark sheet)
- If change of name due to marriage or any other reason, student have to furnish the following documents :

- * Proof of Date of Birth: Copy of any one of the document which mentions the Date of Birth of the candidate :
- a. Photocopy of SSLC/SSC Marks Card or Transfer Certificate showing Date of Birth attested by the Gazetted Officer/Notary
- b. An Extract from the School Admission Register certified by the Head of the Institution.
- c. Birth Certificate issued by Municipality or Local Bodies or any Government or semi Government Institutions(Attested).
- d. Extract from the Passport (attested copies)
You will need to get 1 photocopy of the above mentioned documents attested/notarized by a gazette officer of the Government. The student also needs to provide 3 Passport size photographs.
Photocopies must be attested by a Gazetted Officer of the Government.
Every Course has been given specific break up of awarding marks for assignments and Semester end/Year end Examinations as mentioned in the Course Structure given for each Course. Term exams constitute between 70-90% of the total weightage.
There are no entrance exams for any course including MBA.
The medium of instruction is in English except for the second language paper and MA Kannada course.

Course change is not permitted.
- a. Genuine requests for change of a language and/or an optional subject can be made to the University in respect of BA & BCom programs within one month from the date of admission.
- b. You have to submit a written application to the University stating the reason for the change in optional subject and/or language.
- c. A fee of Rs. 1000/- shall be payable for the same.
Yes, it is double the course duration.
Cancellation is not allowed.
There are no fee concessions or reimbursements for any category of the students.
The students shall have to submit assignments and participate in activities during the course as directed by the University. There would be an end term exam as well. The students have to write the end term exam from one of the exam centers mentioned on the website. If the student doesn't find a suitable exam center based on his/ her locality, the student can submit a request for the same at the Contact page.
The Examination Fees is Rs. 2000 and must be paid online using the Payment Link that has been emailed to you. You can pay using your Debit Card, Credit Card or Netbanking.
40% in the internal assignments and also 40% in the term end final exams is the minimum percentage to pass the examination.
The centres will be allocated by the examination department based on several factors including the number of students in a particular location and the nearest centre available. In case, the centre allocated is inconvenient, please contact us and we will try to allocate alternate locations if available.
No. You cannot take the examinations from any other locations other than the centre to which you are allocated. Though the system provides access to the examination system from other locations for activities like mock tests, the exams cannot be taken from any other locations.
No. You have to take the exams on the designated date and slotted time. No relaxation is allowed by the University.
Yes. You may take the exams subsequently as and when they are scheduled next. This is likely to be once in six months in the case of semester programs.
The Student needs to carry the Hall ticket and a valid Photo Identity. There is no need to carry anything else to the Exam Center.
No. The exam centre shall have computers and other infrastructure you need to take the exams. You will not need to carry a laptop or any other equipment to the Exam Center.
Yes, you can go back to any question and revise the answers till such time that you finally decide to submit the paper. Once submitted, the paper cannot be modified. We highly recommend taking the Mock tests and practice the features.
There is no limit on the number of attempts that you can take. However, please note that you may not attempt the exams after the maximum period for completion of the course has elapsed. For example, if you are taking a 2 year MBA program, the maximum allowed time duration for completing the program is 4 years and you will need to clear all exams within the four year period. It may be noted that the re-examination fee shall be applicable each time you make an attempt.
Assignments are an important component of internal exam. Internal exams constitute 10-30% of the total weightage. You will need to get 40% each in internal and final exam.
Login to the leaning portal with the username & password already provided. Under My programs on the Home page of the Learning portal you shall see the Link for the Exams –
E.g. : For Semester I Exams, please click on the same and enter then enter the Term end exam of the relevant subject.
An OTP (One time password ) shall be prompted by the system to appear for the exams. Please contact the exam invigilator the same. Once the OTP is entered, the system shall prompt you to start the exam and then after confirming the same the timer of the exam starts.
